Women’s Health Associates of Southern Nevada is an OB/GYN specialty practice dedicated to delivering innovative, compassionate care for women and their families. WHASN is a team of 21 Care Center locations in the greater Las Vegas area and more than 40 board-certified or board-eligible physicians. We are looking for a dedicated Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) to provide primary care services to our patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering compassionate and patient-centered care while working collaboratively with our team of healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
   • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
   • Formulate accurate diagnoses based on clinical findings and medical knowledge.
2. Treatment Planning and Management:
   • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and the healthcare team.
   • Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments and educate patients on their use.
3. Patient Education:
   • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, preventive care, and treatment options.
   • Promote health and wellness through patient counseling and health education.
4. Record Keeping:
   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all patients.
   • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to documentation.
5. Collaborative Care:
   • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
   • Refer patients to specialists as needed and coordinate their care.
6. Quality Improvement:
   • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery processes.
   • Stay current with evidence-based practice guidelines and incorporate them into clinical practice.
7. Patient Advocacy:
   • Advocate for patients’ needs and ensure their concerns are addressed.
   • Promote a culture of patient safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in the state of Nevada.
• Strong clinical skills, including the ability to independently assess, diagnose, and treat patients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
• Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
• Reassure patients and help them relax
• Find veins that are suitable for puncture
• Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment

• Label samples correctly and send or deliver them for testing

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician
• Has a GED or High School Diploma
• Experience with effective puncture techniques
• Understanding of proper patient identification methods
• Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples and use of relevant medical equipment and material
• Ability to use computers to enter information
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to connect with various types of patients (such as children, elderly, pregnant women) and make them feel comfortable
• Patience and presence of mind
• Diploma in Phlebotomy or extensive on-the-job training
• Certification is a plus

Position Description

• Full-time Authorization/Surgery Scheduler position for a multi-provider OB/GYN practice. This individual must have a strong background in scheduling, registration, insurance verification (eligibility/authorization) and insurance benefits. The individual must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with other departments. Computer and telephone skills are essential.

• Print the schedule for one week out and complete all OB authorizations/benefits for all procedures/ultrasounds/injections
• Complete global paperwork on all Pregnancy Confirmation/New OB patients and call them to inform them of global benefits and the amount due for Pregnancy Confirmation visit and New OB visit, add notes and flags
• Call patients to inform them of amounts due for procedures/ultrasounds/injections in the office if more than $50
