Rachel is no stranger to WHASN, as we were fortunate to have her join us during her clinical training. Rachel is committed to advancing midwifery education and practice. Among her many accomplishments, she presented at the American College of Nurse-Midwives Annual Meeting on the work of the WHASN CAPP Midwifery Team and the integration of midwifery education in the hospital setting.

Rachel holds a special place in Nevada’s midwifery community as the first Certified Nurse Midwife to graduate and become certified through the UNLV Midwifery Program. As a graduate of Nevada’s own midwifery program, she is passionate about strengthening and expanding women’s healthcare throughout Southern Nevada.

¡Habla español! Rachel provides care in both English and Spanish, helping even more families access personalized, patient-centered care throughout every stage of life. Rachel brings compassion, experience, education, and a genuine commitment to her patients to every interaction – making her a wonderful addition to the WHASN team.

When asked what she loves most about being a women’s healthcare provider, Rachel says, “My favorite part is getting to work with my patients to find health solutions that feed good for them and work in their lives. Walking alongside parents as they welcome their first or fifth baby is also extremely rewarding to me. I love empowering them in their care and educating them so they can take control of their health and their experience.

Beyond her work as a midwife, Rachel is a dedicated wife and mom of four, including 7-month-old twins. Her own experiences with pregnancy, birth, and parenting give her a unique and personal perspective on both the joys and the challenges families experience throughout their journeys.
