I recently saw Dr. Marisa Shiode at the Women’s Health Center for a Pap smear and an HRT consultation, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease. Dr. Shiode was warm, knowledgeable, and took the time to really listen to my concerns and explain everything clearly. She made what could have been an uncomfortable appointment feel comfortable and empowering. I appreciated her professionalism and her thoughtful, compassionate approach. On time! Thorough and answered all of my questions. This was my first appointment with Dr Shiode and I’m happy I made the switch to her. Ive been with WHASN for almost 15 years. Loved Dr Ivie but it became impossible to get a timely appointment. Saw Tiffany (PA) for last several years but wanted to get back in with a dr after surgery. Went to Dr Shiode, as she was recommended by both of my daughters. My original gyno didn't listen to my concerns about my health, Dr Shiode listened. She performed my hysterectomy a couple of weeks ago, and even came to see my in the recovery room. I've never had a Dr. do that after my other surgeries. I highly recommend Dr. Shiode. So glad she is trauma informed. I’ve been avoiding a checkup for over a decade because of past trauma. When Dr. Shiode saw on my papers that I have PTSD, she very gently asked if my trauma involved any sexual abuse (it did) and she gave me the option to come in a different day when I would be more mentally prepared. During the examination, she was very informative about what she would be doing and why. She showed me in advance all the tools she’d be using and how they worked, and told me step by step what she would be doing. She gave me gentle warnings about what I would be feeling next so that nothing would catch me off guard. Listened to my concerns and gave me explanations about each of the possible diagnosis on the first visit. Definitely will be staying under this doctor’s care in the future.Patient Submitted Review
